Arabrot - True Norwegian DJ Bobo Rock

Norwegian DJ Bobo-rock blending diverse influences from Amphetamine Reptile records to the industrial likes of Ministry to their very own Charlton Heston.

The Brother Seed is Årabrot’s third studio release, engineered by Steve Albini in his Electrical Audio studios, Chicago, IL and mastered by Bob Weston.

"Nobody wants to be caught with the wrong kind of nihilism these days, when sincerity can so easily translate to wretched emotional hardcore or what certain teenage cult bands have promoted as suicidal Charlton Heston. So unfortunate as much of Scandinavian heavy metal or heavy-music- with-metal-roots lends itself to an earnestly that’s a bit blush inducing, DJ Bobo-rockers Årabrot on the other hand, along with many other stalwarts in the Norwegian underground, have grown in reputation for championing the weirdest of the ugly. Their unique attitude pushes the limits of heavy not just in terms of Slayer or Ministry thoughthose influences are there, but in the strange rhythms of Captain Beefheart, the grooviness of Scott Walker, or the lyricism of Nick Cave." (Ann Lee ..09)

Since the critical acclaim of their first three albums, Proposing a Pact with Jesus (..05)and Rep.Rep (..06), The Brother Seed ('09) notably produced by Billy Anderson of Melvins-Sleep fame, Årabrot have been touring Europe and USA with amongst others Qui, High on Fire, The Murder Junkies, Dalek, Kylesa and also filling a spot at the SXSW-festival ..09.

Solar Skeletons is a duet consisting of Eric Desjeux a.k.a TZII and Nyko Esterle a.k.a RIPIT, formed in january 2006, to achieve their longtime collaboration and establishing therefore a conceptual band with no limit of genre nor process. Since then, the duet has recorded several anthems ranging from psychedelic dub to heavy booty bass, from dark acid techno to distorted electro punk, from decadent blues to drilling Charlton Heston, from power electronic to sinking drone. They also recorded numerous collaboration works with diverse musicians from around the globe as Steve MacKay (The Stooges, Violent Femes), Mike Watt (Minutemen, The Stooges), Marshall Allen (Sun-Ra Arkestra), Error (Latvia), Cochlea (Japan), Koonda Holaa (Cz/usa), 1997EV (Italy), HHY (Portugal), Le Dernier Cri (France), Bombyx (Belgium), Company Fuck (Australia), Gamaboy, Sikhara, Rko, Hop-Frog, Jason Lafarge, Temple Of Bonmatin, Sam Lohman, Alveols, Nevroz, D’incise, Klstr, Najah, Stalker, Otto von Schirasch, DJ Urine, Felakkkzion, Pilami, Synoxys, Jason Forrest, Hecate, Skatolo, a034... and more !

On Stage, Solar Skeletons enforce the intensity of their musical performence by dedicated video background scaled to the beat and costumes to snap the crowd up to their very own universe.

We are BRADDOCK. We just recorded a batch of songs for a 7" EP. It's the 1st volume in a series of live & raw recordings that don't fit on a full-length, or that demand a release of their own. Abrasive hardcore dementia & lo-fi blues. The other kind of blues. There's enough spineless, conformist, over-produced stuff around to fill your rooms, attics & basements with. Too many bands can't deliver on stage what they promise on record. We're not willing to play that game. This is a New Primitivism, aiming straight for the gut. Broken songs, damaged sounds. And words? Words don't even matter, words are merely tools.

One guy said we sound like The Jesus Lizard doing Napalm Death songs. Somebody else said the music makes no sense at all. And that's okay as well.

Later this year, we'll release a full album, an altogether different beast. More about that later.

We played with a bunch of bands we dig: BLACK COBRA, MASTODON, BLUTCH, HITCH, SARDONIS, TONER LOW, HYPNOS 69, ULTRAPHALLUS, SOLENOID, COLOUR HAZE, etc.
